Courtney Heyward

Courtney has a passion for empowering others, amplifying unheard voices, and a heart for creating spaces of diversity, equity and inclusion stemming from her love for people. She strongly believes that everyone has value and should be offered a seat at the table. Courtney has over 10 years of experience working with at-risk youth from marginalized communities through being a teacher and board member of a local Arizona nonprofit. As a board member, she successfully led in setting, measuring, and accomplishing organizational goals each year, while using her organizational skills to lead fundraisers and write grants for the nonprofit.
Courtney has a Master of Education degree in Exceptional Education from the University of Central Florida. During her time as a special education teacher, Courtney served as an advocate for students with diverse needs helping them reach their fullest potential. She has expertise in data collection, data analysis, strategic planning utilizing best practices, and collaboration with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. She has also worked virtually with international students engaging them in learning strategies.
Courtney has a sincere desire to help others find their purpose, voice, and place in any space they enter through her tenacity to get things done. Outside of her career, her biggest and most satisfying challenge has been that of being a wife and mama to 3 children.
